Located just North of Halifax Borough along route 225 at Armstrong Creek is Deppen Park. It truly is one of the more under rated parks in the upper county area for simple peace and quiet. This park features picnic pavilions with electricity, lighting, and charcoal grills. Other ammenities are pit restrooms, playground area with one of the only public sandboxes left in the area, lots of shade, and a great trout fishing area. Stop by and enjoy!

As of late 2013 public water is no longer available at Deppen Park due to PA DEP increasing chlorine residual level requirements in public drinking water. More information can be optained from the Halifax Area Water and Sewer Authority. We are working on a solution.

This park was formed in 2003 through a joint effort between elected government and school district officials, parents, coaches, and the Recreation Authority to address the lack of athletic facilities in Armstrong and Powells Valley for our youth sports teams to use. Located at 1398 North River Rd. mid way between Halifax and Millersburg, this old farmstead is being slowly developed into athletic fields. Currently we have very basic accommodations for Soccer, and the best kept secret picnic area and fishing hole in the Twin Valleys (Catch and Release please!). Future plans include baseball, softball, full size football, and other park ammenities. This park currently hosts Halifax Cobras Youth Soccer. The park has a portable restroom. Come support your youth sports teams.
